Project vs. Program Management- What is the difference?

Any entrepreneur needs to realize that there is a difference between program and project management. Project management has a finale as program management does not. Projects are like 3 act movies; a beginning, middle and an end. Job creation and product deployments have a start in project management before transitioning into program management. There is no predetermined length of time that a project must be only that is must be completed at some point.

Program management shares similar qualities with projects but would be considered ongoing process. Crafting new billing procedures and the associated training would be an exercise in project management but using that process as a part of a routine would be program management concept.

Understanding this difference when starting a business can and will assist in defining roles while implementing operations that will support a productive working environment.
